Dunlap Codding Promotes Four Attorneys to Shareholder and Director Ranks

Dunlap Codding is pleased to announce the  addition of four attorneys to shareholder and director status effective May 2021: Elizabeth Isaac, Oklahoma City; Julie Langdon, Chicago; Ann Robl, Oklahoma City; and Evan Talley, Oklahoma City. Nick Rouse, the firm’s managing director and shareholder, marked the occasion, saying “Ann, Elizabeth, Evan, and Julie have been mainstays of our firm and the service we provide to clients for quite some time, and  the four of them will be instrumental in the continued success of our firm and our clients for years to come.”

Elizabeth Isaac leads Dunlap Codding’s Design group. Her practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, due diligence, trademarks, copyrights, and entertainment law, as well as multi-disciplinary portfolio management, licensing, transactional, and litigation matters. Elizabeth focuses on patents in the industrial design, mechanical, consumer products, medical devices, and computer-related arts. Elizabeth assists clients in diversifying and enforcing their intellectual property portfolios and mitigating the risks associated with the rights of others by negotiating deals and settlements. She also manages, enforces, and defends complex, global brand portfolios. Elizabeth received her J.D. from Oklahoma City University College of Law, summa cum laude, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Austin College. Elizabeth currently serves on the Boards for the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma City University Alumni Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and deadCenter Film.

Julie Langdon protects and enforces her clients’ intellectual property through litigation and non-litigation strategies, and helps clients obtain and maintain patent and trademark protection. Her intellectual property litigation practice is diverse. She has handled patent litigation in the areas of biotechnology, chemical, software and computer-based systems, and pharmaceutical arts, including Hatch-Waxman issues. She has also handled litigation involving assertions of copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement, as well as trade secret misappropriation. Julie has represented plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of litigation, including preliminary injunction proceedings, discovery, and appeals. Julie received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, her M.S. in Forensic Science with a concentration in biotechnology from Florida International University, and her B.S. in Cellular Biology and Biotechnology from State University of New York at New Paltz.

Ann Robl  focuses her practice on patent preparation, patent prosecution, patent post-grant proceedings, patentability analyses, prior art searching, opinion preparation, licensing, intellectual property agreement preparation and analysis, trademark protection, and intellectual property strategy and portfolio management. Her recent work includes development and implementation of patent post-grant proceeding strategies. Ann’s areas of technical experience include mechanical devices and systems, software-based and computer-based systems, optics, and data transmission and networks. She graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, where she graduated cum laude. Ann serves as the current President of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Evan Talley  enforces and defends his clients’ interests in disputes concerning intellectual property rights (patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secrets, rights of publicity, unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, artists’ and moral rights, and breach of licensing agreements) and ranges from pre-litigation dispute resolution through trial and appeal. His recent litigation experience includes cases in state and federal district courts in Oklahoma, Illinois, California, Florida, Minnesota, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, Oregon, and Ohio. He has participated in appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal, Sixth, and Tenth Circuits. Evan received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, with distinction, and received his B.B.A. with distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Business.

Douglas J. Sorocco was recognized for Litigation – Intellectual Property, Litigation – Patent, Patent Law and Technology Law.  Doug practices in the areas of intellectual property, technology, licensing, life sciences and patent law and is involved in counseling and transactional work involving all aspects of intellectual property, including acquisition and commercialization of intellectual property, portfolio management, licensing and transactional matters. Evan was selected by attorney peers for inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers–Rising Stars Edition 2019 – 2020.  He received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, with Distinction, and was an editor of the American Indian Law Review during law school. Evan received his B.B.A. with Distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Business. 

Barbara Krebs Yuill, Ph.D., was recognized for her work in Trademark Law. Barb practices in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law. She counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property, focusing on patent drafting and prosecution, patent infringement and validity opinions, and license preparation and negotiation. Barb was selected by attorney peers for inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers–Rising Stars Edition in 2010, 2011 and 2012. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Oklahoma City University where she was the staff editor for the Oklahoma City University Law Review. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, her M.S. in Metallurgy from the University of Arizona, and her B.S. from the same institution, with distinction, in Metallurgical Engineering.

Alyssa N. Grooms was selected for the areas of Intellectual Property Law and Patent Law. Alyssa’s practice focuses on advising clients on a variety of intellectual property issues. Elizabeth E. Isaac was selected for Intellectual Property Law. Elizabeth Isaac helps businesses, innovators, entrepreneurs, and artists assess and protect their inventions, brands, designs, and creative works to leverage their intellectual property portfolios and enhance their business options. She counsels clients regarding a breadth of intellectual property with an emphasis on creatively and strategically identifying holistic and dynamic ways to improve the value of various creative and technological assets. Elizabeth was selected by attorney peers for inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers–Rising Stars Edition 2018 – 2020. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Doug regularly counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property including acquisition and commercialization of intellectual property, portfolio management, licensing and transactional matters. On June 14th, 2018, the Plaza District Association named Doug Sorocco as the recipient of the 2018 Urban Pioneer Award.  The award honors individuals in the Oklahoma City community who “exemplify Oklahoma’s pioneering spirit with their leadership and commitment to urban revitalization.” 

Plaza District Association Board President Shelley Rowan said, “With his unique perspective and pioneering approach to developing community, Doug Sorocco has cultivated engaging public spaces, encouraged innovation and protected creativity in Oklahoma City and beyond.  We are thrilled to recognize Doug’s incredible contributions to our city by naming him the 2018 Urban Pioneer.”

DC on Film Row is a free event space open to everyone in our community. 

We like to say that the space is a “home for creatives and innovators, home builders and the homeless, celebrators and the celebrated.” We are inclusive and want everyone from throughout our community using our space. 

Our goal is to celebrate the incredible diversity of creativity, innovation, and passion within Oklahoma City and to provide a venue—free of charge—to those groups and individuals working to bind us all together and make our home a cooler and better place. No strings attached—no extensive rules to follow. We simply ask that all of our neighbors be honored and that all viewpoints be respected. Our criteria for use is simple: If the event, group, or meeting is something which strengthens our community and brings us all together, the space is available for use.
