G. Mike Burdick practices in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and trade secret law. He counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property including the acquisition and exploitation of technological assets. Mike also has extensive experience with intellectual property litigation.
Mike’s work at Dunlap Codding includes patent prosecution and trademark prosecution and licensing. Additionally, for the previous ten years, he has been the primary mentor and adviser for patent practitioners within the firm.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, he was employed by Continental Oil Company (Conoco) as a research chemist and, as such, had responsibility for catalytic research involved in a synthetic alcohol process. Mike continued his employment with Conoco as a patent attorney, where his primary responsibility was in the area of petrochemicals, including all aspects of refining and processing.
After leaving Conoco, Mike was Patent Counsel for Milliken Chemical Co., where he was responsible for legal matters relating to the chemical processing of textiles, dyes and processing equipment.
