Idaho – there’s more than potatoes
In choosing a vacation spot for the summer there were many options: Las Vegas, Mexico, Hawaii, Caribbean. So it is somewhat surprising to the rest of the office that I decided on Idaho. I spent the past week in Island Park cooling off from the heat and fly-fishing. Unexpectedly, I return to find out that Idaho is not only a great summer vacation destination, it is also the No. 1 state in the country in patents per capita thanks to the Micron Technology and Hewlett-Packard invasion. Together, the companies account for over three-fourths of Idaho’s total patent filings. Idaho now has a lot more to offer than just potatoes, especially for a patent attorney.
