iPOD: HOW HP, i.e. the “INVENT” COMPANY, LOST OUT
Interesting article on how HP arguably had all of the pieces (and patents) in place to “invent” the iPOD prior to Apple. While the article hammers HP on the failure to invent angle, the more salient point would be that HP failed to appreciate or coordinate its patenting, new product development, and licensing efforts: the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing.
All is not lost — HP will be reselling the iPOD.
