Laura Robinson represents and advises clients on a wide spectrum of intellectual property issues including patent, copyright, trade secret and trademark matters. Her practice also includes the review and evaluation of business practices to ensure compliance with FDA regulations and procedures. Prior to rejoining Dunlap Codding in June 2011, she served as in house patent counsel for Molecular Imprints, a nanotechnology company. In addition to her experience as an in-house counsel, Laura’s extensive education in both science and engineering helps her in securing solid intellectual property portfolios for a wide range of clients including public and private individuals and institutions. Her science background covers many subject areas including biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, and microbiology. In addition, she is educated on the electrical and mechanical arts as applied to the body including fluid dynamics, biomaterials, cardiac and vascular biomechanics, cellular and molecular biomechanics, virtual instrumentation design for medical systems, biomedical electronics, and signal processors for biomedical measurements. Laura also enjoys guiding clients through the FDA regulatory process. She provides general counseling on corporate systems and policies for clients facing FDA regulations on biologics, pharmaceuticals or medical devices. In addition, Laura assists clients with diagnostic clearance and approval issues and provides assistance prior to, during, and following FDA audits.

While in law school, Laura earned academic achievement awards in Intellectual Property, Patent Law, Anatomy of a Trial and Law Practice Technology. She also served as a legal intern in the Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt, Jr. National Program for Countermeasures to Biological and Chemical Threats Program and as a law clerk for the Texas Tech Office of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property.
